TRANSILLUMINATOR GB19A

Besides the traditional TRANSILLUMINATION, which shall be done with the fibreoptical cable of the big diameter ( 7 mm ), protected by a cap of a soft rubber, the TRANSILLUMINATOR GB19A has another fiberoptic cable, of 1 mm diameter, which permits to do, for example, the examination of the endotracheal tube position in case of a newborn intubation.

These possibilities are the result of optimization of the light from a special lamps.

The transilluminator has 2 lamps of 75 W each, automatically positioned in front of inlets of the optical cables. The power of the lamps can be regulated manually from 10% to 100% of the max. power.

The optical cable of the 7 mm. diameter, 2 meter long, is destined for transilluminaton of scull or thorax, for the visualization of pneumothorax or pneumomediastino or other, for example, vessels.

The optical cable of the 1,5 mm diameter, 2 meters long, can be used for the visualization of the position of the edge of the endotracheal tube, - the method, elaborated in the collaboration with the University of Padova and published at the European Congress of the Perinatal Medicine – Rome, 1988.
