Transport incubators GB58 series

GB58 incubators are specifically designed for use in various vehicles (on the land, water and in the air) with extra emphasis placed on the endurance and resistance to shock.

Special attention was paid not only to the task of creating the ideal microclimate for the newborn (which is achieved even in extreme conditions) but also to providing for the doctors, medical personnel and technicians the best possible access to the baby in the incubator installed in any vehicle.

Transportation is made easier due to the lower weight of the incubator and special fixing devices that allow to use the incubator with different kinds of trolleys (rigid, folding, self-loading), depending on the vehicle used.

  • The case is made of fiberglass (that guarantees fire safety and good shock absorption). The GB58 has low weight and reduced dimensions in comparing with the incubator of the same class. This allows to implement the correct transport of a new born “from department to department” just with the incubator and not to carry the baby by hands to the ambulance, interrupting the artificial respiration.
  • Canopy made of plexiglass has no of rubber or plastic gaskets; this assures the best visual access to the baby, contributes to better hygienic characteristics and makes cleaning easier (the whole patient’s chamber can be disassembled without use of any instrument).
  • The twisting side panel opens a big hole for baby placing into the incubator, so even if the baby is heavy dressed, as in winter, the placing isn’t difficult. There are also 4 portholes with covers (access to the patient from two sides), and a door in the head side (easy and comfortable access to the patient’s head
  • As an optional, the incubator can be equipped with the additional heater, so the preset temperature can be maintained even in a very cold ambulances.
  • If the incubator is equipped with built-in respirator (optional), the patient breathing circuit is completely inside the warm patient chamber. The air, passing the tube, reaches the inside air temperature, and the baby breathe the warm air. No problems with steam condensate inside the tubes.
  • Sliding out bed (the most convenient position of the patient during manipulations; the mattress holder has slits for bandages, fixing the patient’s position or restricting his movements)

Also:

  • Lamp of local illumination (to examine the newborns while transporting the incubator)
  • Oxygen concentration indicator in the patient’s chamber (constant indication on a high brightness screen)
  • Oxygen flow regulation (flowmeter) in the patient’s chamber
  • The position of a control panel assures good visibility and access for operating from any working side of the incubator.

MAIN FEATURES

For the better access to the patient the cover of the patient’s chamber is equipped with:

Four holes for hands (two on each side)

Door in the head side that allows the patient’s bed to be pulled out.

Big side panel for placing the baby inside and for cleaning the chamber.

Two holes for respirator tubes in the head side

Hole in the side for tubes, probes, etc.

Temperature

Temperature is controlled by mean of microprocessor PID – controller according the preset value

Warming

The patient’s chamber is warmed by mean of a radiator which occupies the whole length of the chamber and is located under the patient’s bed, which provides even warming.

The display constantly shows the actual baby’s temperature and the temperature in the patient’s chamber (in servocontrol mode). Operator can see the preset value of the temperature and if necessary change it. For safety reasons the incubator is equipped with an extra electronic thermometer, which indicates air temperature.

The operator can choose the operating mode: either to control the air temperature, or the baby skin temperature (with skin temperature probe)

Air

Air circulation inside the patient’s chamber is provided by the fan. The air inside the incubator is partially substituted by the air coming in from the holes in the cover. The air is completely substituted four times per hour.

Noise

Noise inside the patient’s chamber does not exceed 52 dB (while the norm is 60 dB)

Oxygen therapy

Oxygen system provides controlled inflow of humidified oxygen into the patient’s chamber (through the flow regulator with flow meter and humidifier). When the oxygen flow is 10 liters per minute, oxygen concentration reaches the level of 40%. Oxygen concentration is constantly displayed on the inbuilt indicator. The operator can switch the controlled inflow of oxygen to Ambu bag (is not included into the standard set).

The patient’s chamber is equipped by an examination lamp

Compressed air source

The model with inbuilt ventilator or with MVP-10 ventilator has an inbuilt mini-compressor. There is also a connector for the outer source of compressed air.

Control panel

The model features a single panel with membrane keyboard (resistant to washing and disinfecting substances), digital displays, alarm lamps, control buttons.

Extracting patient’s bed

The bed can be moved out through the head side door. It can be fixed in the intermediate or end position.

Patient’s mattress

In case of necessity the mattress can hold two newborns.

Newborn’s position fixation

Baby’s head is fixed by two flexible bracket with small cushions which at the same time protect his ears from the possible noise that occurs during transportation.

Memory

The last preset value of the temperature is memorized by the temperature regulator and is used as default value after switching off and switching on of the incubator.

“Enab” button on the control panel is used in order to prevent accidental commands.

Assembling and disassembling

The incubator can be disassembled for cleaning without use of instruments. After disassembling incubator parts can be easily and effectively cleaned.

Compliance with standards

The incubator complies with C.E.I 62-5 demands and with particular norms C.E.I. 64-41. The incubator is CE certified in accordance with 93/42/CEE directive.

Battery

Inbuilt lead accumulator battery, 12 V 24 AH capacity, does not require service, provides not less then 90 minutes of autonomous work in case of extremely low outside temperature

External power supply

Provides feeding form the net 220 V 50 Hz net and battery recharge.

Oxygen bottle

Placed in niche of the case 3-liter bottle with pressure reducer.

Oxygen humidifier

Inbuilt air humidifier for oxygen therapy.

Oxygen indicator

Inbuilt indicator of oxygen concentration inside the patient’s chamber.

Additional battery

Additional accumulator with charging device providing not less then 180 minute functioning of the incubator.
